Funding & Grants

You may not need to apply for funding or a grant to make the piece of media you have in mind – effective short films, flash animations etc can be made using equipment you have or can borrow. If however you have a longer or more ambitious project in mind, the information below offers suggestions on where you may apply:

Arts Council - Grants for the Arts

Grants for the arts are for individuals, arts organisations, national touring and other people who use the arts in their work. They are for activities that benefit people in England or that help artists and arts organisations from England to carry out their work.

Greater Bristol Foundation

The Greater Bristol Foundation administers a number of funds which you can apply to including an Express Fund which gives grants of up to £1,000 to small, local voluntary and community organisations in disadvantaged areas of Bristol.

Visit for full details of all the grants.

Bristol Youth Community Action (BYCA)

Young people can apply for grants of up to £1,000 for projects which deal with community safety issues or that provide summer activities for young people in Bristol. To apply: Phone the BYCA office on 0117 9036495.
