WORKSHOPS : DELIVERY : AIMS : DEMOS : WORK IN PROGRESS : ESTELLE MORRIS VISIT

DELIVERY

Delivery was led by skilled technicians and experienced creative professionals. Contributing to the project and working with young people are artists group I Am The Mighty Jungulator (IATMJ), whose custom made interactive audio software, The Mighty Jungulator, was used to produce the drum’n’bass soundtrack from sampled sound fed into it. Jungulator artists led an initial pilot workshop in May 2003 followed by a more in depth three-day workshop during October 2003.

A further three-day workshop in February 2004 was led by VJs.net, a group of artists, performers and musicians who aim to bring all forms of live video art together, raising the awareness and respect for VJing to the levels of DJing and defining it as a new art form for the digital age. Matt Black from Coldcut demonstrated a new piece of work, Cooking with Coldcut, which is featured in the Resources section.

Following each workshop participants were encouraged to present their work live at a performance event. Selected material from the performances can be played in the Gallery section. Documentation of the workshops can be found in the Demos and Work in progress sections. Further information about the workshop leaders can be found in the Links section of the Resources.
