'I am a fish woman' by Sarah McGreevy

I am fish woman

Like gold fish

A little fish in big water

Swimming in a still, brown sea

I am in the fishboat

A blue rowing boat with golden oars

Trying to catch her with fish rod

I am trying to catch me.

I am fisherman

And I am fisherwoman

Fish got fish water

I am woman and fish.

I am swimming in the sea

I was born there

The rod is to get the fish

Out of water

I am stuck by the foot with a hook

To pull me out

Of the water and salt

To be dead

And I’ll be drowned.
