'Daffodil' by Brenda Cook

A golden colour

Beautiful golden colour

Goldenness

Bright, like the sun

Rain helps it grow

From the oily earth

It comes into bud

Bursting open

Blooming, big

And the flower

Is like two hands

Folded together

Fingers touching loose

Like Grace

Gradually opens out

Unfolds

Wrists handcuffed

To the stem

The flower pray up to the sun
