'I will be happy when I get old' by Joan Goodyear

When I get old I will be an old lady

With a smile

I will look like my mum

White hair

She’s got chins with a white nose

And blue eyes

That watch you

Because they’re happy with you.

I shall be a nice old lady

I shall talk to the youngest ones

Nurse them

They will touch my glasses

And they’ll say, ‘What big chins you’ve got!’

And I’ll sing rock-a-bye-baby to them

And I’ll have grown old and happy.
