about the director

Nicola Williams studied Film Production & Cinematography at the University of Northumbria graduating with a First Class Honours Degree in 1995. Her graduation documentary film ‘20th Century Hercules’ received the Tyne Tees script award and the prestigious Visual Innovation Award from course patron, Director, Mike Figgis.
Initially starting her career as a camera / lighting operator for various broadcasters and production companies, Nicola turned her hand to drama direction/writing in 2001 with ‘The Wrong Flowers’, a short film which has gained International recognition. ‘The Boy Who Grew Too Much’ was her second short film, made in 2003, under the UK Film Council Digital Shorts scheme; and produced by South West Screen and HTV West and was broadcast on HTV West on completion in Nov 2003.
Nicola has also worked as a Director / Producer making documentaries for regional and digital broadcasters and takes film and production workshops for adults and children.
