At art + power I met up with Roy Tanner and Brenda Cook, friends who I hadn’t seen for about thirty years. I’m in the Portway Players, a theatre group.
At the moment we’re rehearsing for Dr Faustus. It’s good fun and I’ve got good friends there. I first got involved to do some poetry readings with Roy on a trip to Cornwall. I enjoy reading poetry in public. I’ve just started to write poetry as well.
My art is about my life and how I was treated when I was younger. I want people to change their attitudes because some people I know have been treated very badly. If I have a problem that I can’t talk about, I can put it down in words in a poem.
Through art + power I’ve been to different places and met many people, and I want to make a film about my life with the help of art + power.
