Dave Conn 1939 - 2004
"I’m proud of myself doing so much art. My family are proud as punch. I can’t set my mind to anything else. It’s inspiration.
I have worked with disabled artists in London, and was invited to Liverpool Tate with artists first to help with an exhibition by Mark Quinn about disabled artists. We showed people around and did some paintings and drawings. I liked the statues and scuplture. It was good that I didn’t want to come home."
Dave worked hard with his art, we worked together, we worked hard to show the world our work and to change people’s wrong ideas about us. Dave was one of us. We shared together, the stories of our lives, Dave wanted to know about us and we wanted to know about him. That is what friends are for, we know about each other. We know about David, all the things he loved doing. He loved his art. He was a wonderful artist.
