"Whilst living at Cherry Orchards, I was attending an Art Foundation course at Bristol School of Art, and I was set a college assignment on natural forms. I had a new single lens reflex camera which I was getting used to. I wouldn't normally choose to shoot flowers, but as I had to, I did. By the end of the assignment I found the practice of finding beautiful things to photograph very relaxing."
"Often I strolled around enjoying looking through the lens at things. Very often I wouldn't actually take the photograph, so this represents a small proportion of the flowers I saw through my viewfinder."
