Digital artist France ‘Cyberdoll’ Cadet is developing a new installation at the Intelligent Autonomous Systems Lab at UWE from October onwards. France is constructing a multi-robot installation called Dog[LAB]02 – a series of different robotic animals made by hacking popular cyber-toys. The piece raises questions about the opportunities and dangers presented by contemporary experiments in biotechnology such as cloning. The residency is a result of a grant secured by UWE from the Leverhulme Trust. France will present the work in progress later in the year at Watershed, in the meantime she will be keeping an online journal here on dShed documenting the installation as it develops.
