I Can Read You is a new artwork being developed by artist Simon Poulter as part of a wider research project called Active Posters. Active Posters are screens or ordinary posters displaying barcodes which people can read with the latest mobile camera phones to access content such as music, films and information. Simon uses this idea and approaches it from a conceptual rather than functional standpoint to create I Can Read You.
Simon is developing the project in collaboration with Hewlett-Packard and Watershed through a research and development process. This R&D process combines working closely with HP software developers and researchers, targeted user testing sessions and open public trials. Documentation of the project development and collaborative process will be posted here.
