Net_Working is an exhibition of web works by national and international artists available to view online @ www.watershed.co.uk/Net_Working and on the large screen between Tue 20 Nov - Thu 29 Nov in Watershed Media Centre's Digital Café. The exhibition has been organised by Dew Harrison (University of the West of England) for the CHArt annual conference at the British Academy in London (Wed 28 - Thu 29 Nov) in collaboration with Watershed. CHArt (Computers and the History of Art) was established by art and design historians who were also computer enthusiasts. Initially a forum for the exchange of ideas, it is now a society open to all who have an interest in the application of computers to the study of art and design. This year’s CHArt conference, Digital Art History - A Subject in Transition; Opportunities and Problems will focus on how computers and the internet are used to teach, archive, research and source art. Dew Harrison and Suzette Worden (UWE) will be reffering to this exhibition in order to discuss the relevance of the internet as a medium for contemporary practice.
