Electric Pavilion and Dance Bristol presented the premiere screening of The Elders at Watershed Media Centre in October 2005. The film was introduced by Lisa and screened alongside two other 'dance for camera' films. The Elders was also screened at Kuumba later that year.

Feedback from the Event

"I would like to say congratulations on a fantastic night! I thought both of your films were amazing and you have inspired alot of people. It was a very empowering experience for the black communities as a whole, not only to see such a beautiful sensitive film but to see so many of the people, from the film and the community, in the Watershed. Well done an achievement in

Helen Wilson - ACAF Officer, Kuumba

"I came to the first showing of Elders and I LOVED IT!! The atmosphere on the night was electric and how fantastic that there had to be a second showing!"

Lee Cox - Director Wild Fire Bristol Production Company

"I had a fantastic evening at the launch of The Elders film. I  thought it was a very strong piece of work which represented the lives and histories of the subjects with great insight and understanding. It was evident to me that you had worked with the group over an extended period through which a high degree of trust and understanding had been developed - this gave the film
great depth and insight. Combine this with the wonderful music & dance scenes and the film is textured, exciting and uplifting - fantastic."
