We All Fade Away

by Nisha Duggal

This short film begins with a slow zoom into a still image of tourists, all gazing at something we cannot see. Over time each spectator is blacked out as they are transformed into birds that slowly fly off into the distance. The aim is to attempt to articulate an apprehension of our fragility, promoting a longer view than that usually dictated by our day to day experiences.

Newcastle-based Nisha works predominately in video but also works in a variety of media including sound, photography, drawing, and live art. She is led by ideas or propositions rather than the materials she uses, 'sampling' from the world around her to create artworks that engage the viewer through their manipulations of social situations.
