Elizabeth Bowley
Elizabeth Bowley is a video artist whose work explores sexuality, sensuality and popular culture to create coolly detached yet deeply intimate works. Her surreal video, Glassmaster, uses the decadence and eeriness of an empty theatre to highlight the powerful seductive qualities of beauty and desire. The video focuses on style and aesthetics, highlighting colour, movement, and form and the use of an evocative soundtrack explores the relationship between music and image and the pleasure music offers.
Elizabeth Bowley has only recently joined the team at the Watershed working in the Café Bar. She has been awarded a Spike Island Fellowship and will be exhibiting new work at Spike early next year.
