Encounters Festival was delighted to welcome Phill Jupitus back to host a special event celebrating excellence in animation. Here he chooses his favourite moments from Smallfilms' extraordinary canon of classic stop-motion animations such as Ivor the Engine, the Clangers and, of course, Bagpuss.
Phill was joined onstage by award-winning stop-motion animator Barry Purves and Smallfilms' archivist and publisher Loaf; together they reveal the delights of Oliver Postgate's extraordinary storytelling and Peter Firmin's incredible puppets and artwork.
